Obituary of Bessie Darleene Tharpe Hale

Funeral services for Bessie Darleene Tharpe Hale, age 66, are scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday May 22, 2008 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Bonita Road Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. at Goldens.
Mrs. Hale, a homemaker and resident of Bastrop, passed away Tuesday May 20, 2008 at her residence. She was a member of Bonita Road Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Hale; son, Arnold Wade Hale; father, Gus Tharpe; mother, Pauline McGowin Hughes; and brother, Clifton G. Bryant.
She is survived by three sons, Arnold David Hale & fiance, Amanda Emmanuel of Bastrop, Donald Glen Hale & wife Brenda of Bastrop, Preston Emerson of Pine Bluff, AR; three sisters, Dorothy Middlebrooks of Beekman, Lodie Craig of Bastrop, Alice Hinton of Bastrop; ten grandchildren, Natasha Michelle Hale; Whitney Nicole Hale, Erica Nicole Hale, Donald Christopher Hale, Sharon Lynn Emerson, Nick Owen Emerson, Joey Fontenot, Eric Fontenot, Mark Fontenot, Samantha Fontenot; three great grandchildren, Brooklyn Hale, Gavin Fontenot, Zachary Fontenot; several nieces & nephews; and long-time friends, Nellie May and Roger May.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Parker, Mark Fontenot, Joey Fontenot, Tommy DeVille, Tim Cockrell, Keith Emmanuel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
