Funeral service for Ola Lee Porter Jones, age 86, of Bastrop are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, November 13, 2005 at the Golden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Fowler and Rev. Bobby Porter officiating. Interment will follow in Carter - Nicholson Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones, a homemaker and longtime member of Oak Hill Baptist Church, who enjoyed working within the church, passed away Friday, November 10, 2005 at her residence. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and her favorite flowers were purple and yellow pansies and yellow roses. She always showed love in her heart for all her family. There was always a smile on her face and the encouragement to love one another.
She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Gorman of Bastrop, LA; Diane Goodman and husband LeRoy of Bastrop, LA; son, Clyde William Jones and wife Carol of Sterlington, LA; two brothers, Willis Leo "Buck" Porter and wife Martha of Bastrop, LA; Clarence William "Bill" Porter and wife Billie Ruth of Bastrop, LA; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Jones; parents, Bessie and William Kenneth Porter; brother, Woodrow Porter; sister, Lillie Craig; infant sister, Louise Porter and aunt, Blanche Tillman.
Serving as pallbearers are: Luther Goodman, Ralph Porter, Charles Owens, Tim Goodman, William Gorman, and Roger Goodman.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Dean Porter, Bobbie Porter, Jr. and Jimmy Porter.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2005 at Golden Funeral Home.
