Obituary of Adney E. Gibson

Funeral services for Mrs. Adney E. Gibson, age 80, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October, 30, 2013 in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Gibson, a resident of Bastrop, LA and retired owner of Gibson Cleaners, passed away Monday, October 28, 2013. Mrs. Gibson was a member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Gibson is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Gibson; son, Clay Gibson; and parents, Leon Jones and Francis Smith. Mrs. Gibson is survived by a son, Gary Gibson and wife Randy of Bastrop, LA; a brother, Dr. Hershel Jones and wife Wanda of Tyler, TX; two grandchildren, Carmen Jordan and husband Billy of Bastrop, LA, Elizabeth Dowies and husband Sam of Homer, LA; and five great grandchildren, Rachel and Jack Jordan, Trent and Reed Anders, Kirsten Dowies. Serving as pallbearers will be Deacons of First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Golden Funeral Home.
