Funeral services for Mrs. Betty McLendon Sawyer, age 83, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Central Church of Christ with Mr. Waymon Swain officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday from 5 PM until 7 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sawyer, a homemaker, passed away Friday, November 22, 2013. She was a member of Central Church of Christ, Chicot Trace chapter of DAR, Family History Club, Busy Bee Homemakers Club, and the Busy Bee Quilters. She was born in Beaumont, TX and raised in Rison and Ashdown, AR.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Harold Sawyer; daughters, Alane Cardinal and husband Don of Ft. Worth, TX, Sharon Morris of Thomasville, AL; one granddaughter, Katie Garbelman, one great granddaughter, Annie Garbelman of Norman, OK; one sister, Mimi Sue Watson of Clayton, LA, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special caregiver, Dora Brown.
Mrs. Sawyer is preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Elizabeth McLendon.
