Funeral Services for Ollie H. White, Jr., 74, will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013 at David Funeral Home of Lafayette, LA with Rev. Wallace Milsap officiating. Visitation will begin at 4:00PM on Tuesday Dec.3, 2013 ,with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00PM, until 9:00PM and will resume on Wednesday Dec. 4, 2013 at 8:00AM until just prior to service time. Graveside interment services will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday Dec. 5, 2013 at Pine Grove South Cemetery of Hwy 139 in Bastrop, LA under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. White passed away on Sunday Dec. 1, 2013.
A native of Bastrop, LA Mr. White had been a resident of Lafayette, LA since 1985. He was employed by International Paper as a Controller for 16 years prior to his retirement. Ollie was a devoted husband and father who loved his family whom were always first in his life, especially his wife of 47 years and his children and grandchildren. A veteran of the U.S. Army , Ollie also graduated from Northeast Louisiana University (now The University of Louisiana at Monroe) with a BS degree in Accounting. He enjoyed spending time at his farm in Bastrop with his family, friends and his farm animals. Well known for having "never met a stranger", Mr. White will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 47years, Myra White of Broussard, LA; daughter, Hollie Brasseaux and her spouse, Richard also of Broussard, LA; son, Lance White and his Fiancee; Pam LeBlanc of Opelousas, LA; grandchildren, Austin White of Carencro, LA, Lanie White, Andrew Brasseaux, Karlie Brasseaux all of Broussard, LA, Landon LeBlanc and Paisley White both of Opelousas, LA and one brother, Gary Wayne White and his spouse, Carolyn of Bastrop, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie H. White, Sr and Annie Linzey White.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Brasseaux, Richard Brasseaux, Lance White, Wade Mooring, Bobby Keeling, Trey Beckett, Kenneth Blanchard and Burley Dies.
