Obituary of Jr. Bishop

Funeral services for Mr. Snyder L. Bishop, Jr., age 73, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Fulton officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove South Cemetery. Mr. Snyder, a retired employee of International Paper Company with 39 years of service, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dale Bishop of Bastrop, LA; son, Steve Bishop and wife Kim; granddaughter, Erin Bishop, all of Sterlington, LA; brothers, Glen Bishop and wife Olla Mae of West Monroe, LA, James Bishop and wife Ellen of Bastrop, LA; sister, Jerrine Martin Edwards and husband Dr. George Edwards of Delhi, LA. Mr. Bishop also had an extended family member, Josh Brown of Bastrop that was adopted into the family as a son. He had also recently discovered a biological family that includes; Earl Holliman of Hollywood, CA, Bobbie Mullins of Clinton, MS, Helen Mullins of Vidalia, LA with whom he developed a special close relationship within the latter years. He is also survived by his best friend, his dog Duchess. Mr. Bishop is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Randolph Bishop and Paul Bishop. Chapter D of GWRRA motorcycle family with whom he experienced many miles of friendship will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
