Obituary of Marie Mashaw Mayo

Memorial services for Marie Mashaw Mayo, age 85, of Brandon, MS, formerly of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Post officiating. Interment services will follow in Antioch Cemetery (Farmerville, LA) at 4 p.m. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the chapel service. Mrs. Mayo passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013 in Brandon, MS. She was retired from the Morehouse Parish Library with 25 years of service, during which time; she ran the Book Mobile and once served as acting librarian. Mrs. Mayo was a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church and enjoyed reading. She is survived by her two daughters, Pat Meador of Brandon, Ms, Kathy Trichell of Pelahatchie, MS; a brother, Minor "Buddy" Mashaw of Shreveport, LA; two grandchildren, Amber Marie Arnold and Shawn Trichell and six great grandchildren. Mrs. Mayo is preceded in death by her parents, Minor and Thelma Mashaw; sister, Robbie "Bob" Wells and a brother, Allen Mashaw. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
