Obituary of Elizabeth Wilkerson

Funeral services for Elizabeth Noel Wilkerson, 13, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Grace Baptist Church with Revs. Chad Ballard and Royce Christmas officiating. Interment will follow in Bartholomew Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday at Golden Funeral Home. Elizabeth was a student at Beekman Jr. High, where was currently a member of the band. She was member of the Girl Scouts, a reporter for the 4-H Club during 2009-2010, Valedictorian for the 6th grade, Student of the Year for the 5th grade and on the A-B Honor Roll Student List. Elizabeth loved her church, Greenacres Baptist Church, and enjoyed art, dance and fishing. She loved life, her brother and her family. Elizabeth is survived by her parents, John D. Wilkerson and Becky Gorden Wilkerson; brother, Daniel Lee Wilkerson; paternal grandfather, Tommy Lee Wilkerson of Bastrop; maternal grandmother, Pat Gorden of Bastrop; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many many friends. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Dorothy Wilkerson and maternal grandfather, Floyd "Flash" Gorden. Serving as pallbearers are: Gene Maxwell, Trey Maxwell, Scotty Jones, "Pick" Myers, Jimmy Straughn and Gary "Juice" Guice, Jr.. Honorary pallbearers are: Ricky Hudson, Chris Owens, the teachers and staff of Pine Grove Elementary and Beekman Jr. High.
