Obituary of Sr. Crow

Funeral services for Mr. John Travis Crow, Sr., 83, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Chad Ballard officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery (Monroe, LA). Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Goldens. Mr. Crow, a retired employee of 18 years with International Paper Company, U.S. Marine veteran of WWII and lifelong member of Green Acres Baptist Church passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Morehouse General Hospital. He also was employed for 12 years as a Pinkerton Guard at Morehouse General Hospital and worked 10 years at the Georgia Pacific Plant in Crossett. Mr. Crow is preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Kay; three brothers, Walter, Earnest, Clifton; sister, Thelma and a half sisters, Avral, Eva and Earnestine. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ina M. Thomisee Crow; five children, Patricia, John Jr., Willie and wife Ruth, Jamie, Trudy Melton and husband Mike; grandchildren, Paul, Deborah, Billie, Brian, Jessica, Josh, Jenny, Lance; step grandchildren, Kimberly and Bradley; great grandchildren, Cyndal, Layla, Gracie, Jayden; step great grandchildren, Colton, Jillian and numerous other family and friends. Serving as pallbearers are: Charlie Whitaker, Perry Hunt, Preston Anders, Joshua Nichols, Billy Crow, Brian Crow and Paul David Wallace. Honorary Pallbearers will be: W.T. Glass, Thomas Philley, Lance Melton, Dr. Carter Cox, Dr. E.D. Baker, Tennie Bowen, Ruth Outlaw and Canine Friends, Dasie and Abby. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Dr. Carter Cox and Best Home Health of Bastrop.
