Funeral services for Mr. Leon Hodges, Sr. are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the First United Pentecostal Church, Mer Rouge Rd, Bastrop, LA, with Rev. Dwight Fulton officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove South Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday from 5-8 p.m. at First United Pentecostal Church, Mer Rouge Rd, Bastrop, LA. Mr. Hodges, a retired mechanic and decorated U.S. Navy veteran, was born October 1, 1932 and passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the age of 81, leaving behind a legacy of love and many happy memories of laughter and fun with family and friends. Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by his parents, John William and Mary Elizabeth Hodges; brother, John Edward Hodges; sister, Ruby Hodges Taylor; sister-in-law, Shigmi Hodges; brother-in-law, John Mizell; and granddaughter, Jennifer Leigh Dement Stephenson. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carrie Faye Roberts Hodges; children, Leon Hodges, Jr. and wife Tambra, Sandra Barton and husband Jerry, Linda Dement and husband Carl, Susan Castleberry and husband Richard; sister, Jeanie Mizell; brothers, Edgar Hodges and wife Odell, Clittee Hodges and wife Betty, Ervin Hodges, Earl Hodges and wife Maydell, and David Hodges and wife Dianne. Leon and Faye have been blessed with grandchildren, Bethany Barton, Wade Barton, Chris Hodges and wife Aida, Nikki Riles and husband Billy, Alan Dement, Randy Hickman, Jr. and wife Stephanie, Dustin Castleberry and wife Heather, Jonathan Castleberry and wife Vanessa; great grandchildren, Eden, Kelly Jo, Alexis, Alayna, Julia, Ethan, Madison, Mason, Logan, Brooke, Blaine, Kati, Ashlyne, D.K., Austin, Devin, Hannah, Brandon, Adalynn, Kelbie, Joel Travis, April, and Alexia. Mr. Hodges is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Wade Barton, Chris Hodges, Alan Dement, Randy Hickman, Jr., Dustin Castleberry, and Billy Riles.
