Obituary of James Clifford DeBlieux

Funeral services for Mr. James Clifford DeBlieux, age 83, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Lijo Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Mr. DeBlieux passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He retired from International Paper Company in 1992 as a pulpmill operator with 44 years of service. He also spent many years as a farmer. Mr. DeBlieux was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and of the American Legion. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1949-1952 during the Korean War on the USS Chevalier as a Class FMEN. Mr. DeBlieux is survived by daughters, Janice DeBlieux of Mer Rouge, LA, Elizabeth DeBlieux, Terri Stephens and husband Darryl, Amy Ederington and husband Samuel, Carol Rodgers and husband Randy, Jamie Rainbolt and husband Bartly, all of Bastrop, LA; sisters, Lois Compton of Benton, AR, Alma Honeycutt of Mer Rouge, LA, Tina Stephenson of Monroe, LA; brothers, W.V. DeBlieux, Johnny DeBlieux, Robert DeBlieux, all of Bastrop, LA;Fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Theresa DeBlieux; children, Jon DeBlieux, Donald DeBlieux; grandson, Anthony "Tony" DeBlieux; parents, Honore Louis and Ozet DeBlieux and seven brothers and sisters. Serving as pallbearers are: Larry DeBlieux, David Joshua Bagwell, Cody Alan Bagwell, Steve Stephenson, Chris "Bo" DeBlieux and Jerry Honeycutt. Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons, James Lamar DeBlieux, Joseph Michael Ederington and Trevor Lee Rodgers. Visitation will be held Tuesday January 7, 2014 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home with the Rosary beginning at 4:30 p.m.
