Obituary of Phillis R. Freeman

Funeral services for Mrs. Phillis R. Freeman, age 64, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2014 at Bonne Idee Assembly of God Church with Rev. Jerry Stuckey officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Freeman passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Lake View Regional Medical Center in Covington, LA. She was employed as a Certified Deputy Clerk with the Morehouse Parish Clerk of Court's office for 28 years. Mrs. Freeman is an 11 year member of the Bonne Idee Assembly of God Church (Mer Rouge) and a Certified Court Reporter with the Louisiana Clerk of Court Association. She also enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle with her husband and spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Freeman is survived by her husband of 33 years, Gary R. Freeman; her mother, Doris Farace of Bastrop, LA; mother in law, Bessie Freeman of Bastrop, LA; her daughter, Stephenie L. Harris and husband Mark of Monroe, LA; four grandchildren, Shanna Rose Scott, Corbin Harris, Conley Harris, Baylee Harris and a host of other special family members. She is preceded in death by her father, Phillip Farace; brother, Sammy Farace and father in law, Julius Freeman. Serving as pallbearers are: Bo Ezell, Ralph Jones, Alan Freeman, James Jones, Brian Rainbolt, and Steve Sylvester. Honorary pallbearers are: Jerry Jones, Corbin Harris and Conley Harris. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Louisiana Boxer Rescue Association or to the charity of your choice.
