Obituary of Evelyn L. Freisner Stewart

Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn L. Freisner Stewart, age 90, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2014 at Collinston First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Loveday and Rev. Shelton Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Stewart, a resident of Collinston, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014. She was a homemaker and a member of Collinston First Baptist Church. She served the Lord in her younger years by helping take friends to doctor visits or by visiting nursing home residents. She had the heart of a servant. Mrs. Stewart loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her church. She is survived by her daughter, Hazel Carter and husband Arthur, Sr. of Collinston, LA; son, Jay Stewart and wife Lisa of Iowa; seven grandchildren, Rhonda Church and husband Greg of Collinston, LA, Arthur Carter Jr. and wife Lisa of Bastrop, LA, John J. Carter and wife Rose of Collinston, LA, Jonathan Stewart, Christopher Stewart, Matthew Stewart, Joshua Stewart, all of Iowa; seven great grandchildren, Joe Rainwater, Jr. and wife Donna, Darrell Church and wife Codie, Nathanael "Bubba" Church and Rebecca, Arthur Carter III, Daniel Carter, Alyssa Carter, John J. Carter, Jr., Alexis, Brianna, and Ava; and great great grandchildren, Trey Rainwater, Ryder Rainwater, and Elizabeth Ann Mosley. Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to thank the CNA's, the nursing staff, and the many friends that were made while she was at Oak Woods. Special thanks to Premier Hospice and her friends at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kansas City who encouraged her with prayers and cards.
