Obituary of Spencer Davis Freeland

Funeral services for Spencer Davis "Doc" Freeland, 90, of Bastrop are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday,July 23,2004 at the Meridian Baptist Church in Crossett,AR. with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating. Mr. Freeland, a retired employee of United Gas Company and member of Meridian Baptist Church, died Monday, July 19,2004 at his residence. He loved fishing, gardening and was a hard worker. Interment will be in the Stevenson cemetery. Mr. Freeland is survived by his wife, Virginia Lifsey Freeland; brother, Carter Freeland of Bastrop,LA; three grandchildren, Jennipher Spector, Matthew McPherson and Jessica Slavin; two great grandchildren, Logan Spector and Clay Spector and a wide circle of family and friends. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Julia Freeland McPherson. Pallbearers will be Larry Goyne, Randy Smith, Herman White, Mike Johnson, Walter Moore and Wayne Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Doug Steen and Mike Hughes. Visitation is scheduled to be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday at the Meridian Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
