Obituary of Margaret Moreland Cummins

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Moreland Cummins, age 78, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Kyle Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church. Mrs. Cummins, a retired bus driver and resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014. She was an active member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church for 53 years. She served as a Benevolence hostess, sang in the choir, and was president of the Cherry Ridge Keenagers. Mrs. Cummins is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years and father of her four children, Henry Lee Moreland, and six brothers. She is survived by husband, James Cummins of Bastrop, LA; daughter, Patsy Elee and husband Jackie of Monroe, LA; three sons, Michael Moreland, Randy Moreland and wife Lisa of Benton, AR, Steve Moreland and wife Ginger of Old Washington, TX; two step-daughters, Paula Morrison and husband Tony of Sterlington, LA, Penny Montcalm and husband Monty of Sterlington, LA; four sisters, Irene Myers of West Monroe, LA, Cathy Leggett and husband Ted of Shreveport, LA, Sarah Ebberson and husband Bant of Shreveport, LA, Shirley Reddon and husband Jim of Dallas, TX; brother, Harlan "Buddy" Hart and wife Betty of Monroe, LA; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Pearce, Steve Perry, Stefan Akers, Jack McCormick, Danny Lee, Frank Mushinski, and Earl Tackett. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church.
