Obituary of Leroy Baynard "Dinky" Robinson

Funeral services for Mr. Leroy Baynard "Dinky" Robinson, age 75 of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow in Hughes Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 PM until 8 PM Friday at Golden Funeral Home. Mr Robinson, a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend left to be with the Lord on February 5, 2014. Not many people knew him as Leroy but all knew him affectionately as "Dinky". He was born January 22, 1939 in Bastrop, LA to the late O.C. "Pete" and Irene Robinson. He was married for 49 years to Linda Carroll Robinson. He lived his life in happiness while devoted to his wife and family. His hobbies were watching football on TV, he was an LSU and Saints fan and loved feeding the birds and squirrels. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Carroll Robinson; daughters, Tamara Ruth and husband Michael, Laura Shay Wilkerson and husband Ray, both of Bastrop, LA; son, Jason Robinson and wife Mary of Springfield, IL; grandchildren, Haley Kelley, Emily Ruth, Ryan Wilkerson and wife Sarah, Evan Wilkerson, Ethan Robinson, Maranda Robinson; great grandson, Tristan Ryan Wilkerson; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends who he loved very much. Mr. Robinson is preceded in death by his parents, O.C. "Pete" and Irene Robinson, brothers, Glen, Ray, and Larry Robinson. Serving as pallbearers will be, Ray Robinson, Downey Robinson, Robert Robinson, Alex Tyson, Bryan Bays and Jimmy Goyne. Honorary pallbearers will be, Kenneth Tyson, Grady Hall, Jerry Bortell and Roger Middlebrooks.
