Funeral services for Louis H. Jones, 81, of Bastrop, LA, will be held on July 1, 2008 at 2 p.m. at First Apostolic Church of Bastrop, Crossett Hwy. Rev. J.T. Wheat will be officiating; along with Rev. Hurby Hitt. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Bastrop. Visitation will be at the First Apostolic Church of Bastrop on June 30, 2008 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Louis H. Jones was born September 28, 1926 in Winnsboro, LA and went to be with the Lord and grandson, Dustin Glen Roper, on June 29, 2008. He was a long time member of First Apostolic Church of Bastrop, LA. He was a veteran of World War II and retired from the International Paper Company after 40 years of service. Louis H. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Nebraska Goldman Jones; brothers, Harvis D. Jones, Carl Jones Sr., Rev. Jack Jones, Wiley E. Jones, and Henry Jones; sister, Emily J. Hasting; grandson, Dustin Glen Roper, a well loved niece, Vicki Book, and a well loved great nephew, David Book. Louis H. Jones is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lucille Oser Jones of Bastrop, LA; son, Harmon H. Jones and his wife Sherry L. Jones of Bastrop, LA; daughters, Brenda Lane Carruth of Bastrop, LA, and Barbara Jo Oser of Safety Harbor, FL; grandchild, Alana Lucil Carruth of Bastrop, LA; great grandchildren, Michael Lemons of Goodwill, LA, Devin Glen Roper and Jared Elton Roper, both of Monroe, LA. Louis H. Jones is also survived by one sister, Gayo Jordan of Winnsboro, LA; and his well loved niece, Rachel Andrews and husband Chris Andrews of Bastrop, LA. Honoring Louis H. Jones as pallbearers will be Chris Andrews, John Book, Ralph Reynolds, Edward Jones, Marvin Ricks, and David White. "Daddy was a gracious man in the truest sense of the word. He loved the Lord. He loved his family."
