Obituary of W.O. "Jack" Spigner

Funeral services for Mr. W.O. "Jack" Spigner, age 89, will be held at 3 PM, Sunday, February 16, 2014 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Spigner, a retiree of International Paper Company, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014. He was a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon for thirty years. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and loved to garden. He was always willing to share the produce that he raised with his family and friends. Mr. Spigner was also a veteran of the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his wife of almost sixty-six years, Ann Spigner, a son William "Bill" Spigner, one brother, and three sisters. Mr. Spigner is survived by his daughter Paula Mushinski and husband Frank, and his son Donald Spigner and wife Bonnie. He also is survived by seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers are Thomas Farrar, Robby Jones, Earl Tackett, James Mardis, Lynn Sanders, and Bobby Nugent. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church. There will be a visitation time beginning at 1:00 PM preceding the service.
