Obituary of Jr. Johnson

Funeral services for Mr. John Ike Johnson, Jr., 82 of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 PM until 8 PM Friday at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Baptist faith and a retired water well contractor. He loved his work and was very creative at his job. He served his country in Okinawa, Japan during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sue Milne Johnson; son, John R. "Bob" Johnson and wife Donna of Bastrop, LA; sister, Claudine Huff of Fountain Hill, AR; brothers, Billy B. Johnson and wife Robertine of Mer Rouge, LA, James M. Johnson of Bastrop, LA; grandchildren, David E. Stinson of Gulf Port, MS, Jay Aaron Stinson of Gulf Port, MS, Robin Lee Boykin of Gulf Port, MS, James Christopher Johnson of Bastrop, LA, John Robert Johnson, Jr. of Bastrop, LA; great grandchildren, Destiny Stinson, Falyn Johnson, Kiptyn Johnson, Weston Johnson, Ava Stinson, Charlotte Stinson and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his parents, Ike and Ela Johnson, parents-in-law, D.L. and Aurelia Milne, daughter, Johnna Johnson, and brother, Elvin Johnson. Mr. Johnson's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
