Obituary of William A. Brown

Memorial services for Mr. William A. Brown, age 74 of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 3 PM Monday, March 3, 2014 at Golden Funeral Home with the Reverend Ned Head officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 PM until 3 PM, Monday prior to service time. Mr. Brown, a retired International Paper Company employee, passed away Friday, February 28, 2014 in Bastrop, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nels and Mary Brown; brothers, Nelson Brown and Floyd Brown; and sisters, Albertine Crossland, Betty Bonner, Adeline Warren, and Martha Nichols. Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Diane Rawls Brown; his son, Eric Brown and wife Ann of Bastrop, LA; sisters, Mary Robertson of Mer Rouge, LA, Juanita Williams of Monticello, AR, and Cherrie Crossland of Muskogee, OK. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Brown loved music and was a member of a local band, "The Country Legends", who actively played music at local nursing homes to entertain the residents. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donors choice.
