Obituary of Irene Ashton McIntyre

Funeral services for Ms. Irene A. McIntyre of Bastrop, LA will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2008 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Ashton/McIntyre Family Cemetery following the chapel service. Rev. Kevin Sanders will be officiating with music by Cindy Eldrige. Ms. McIntyre was born October 8, 1913 in Baskin, LA. She went to be with her heavenly Father and Savior, July 9, 2008. She was a long time member of the Pentecostal Faith. Ms. McIntyre was a very devoted nurse, working for years in the local area as an LPN. She was devoted to her family, meeting the challenges of life with grace and joy from the very simple things of life to the most complex. Survivors include her daughters, Dorothy McWilliams, Doris Carruth and husband Everette all of Bastrop, LA, Lois Evans and husband Bill of Gilbert, LA; a son, Floyd McIntyre of Bastrop, LA; a daughter, Jan Ellis of Bastrop, LA and husband Joe of Winnsboro, LA; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; fourteen great great grandchildren; and special family friends, Bobbie and Joker Robinson. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Duane Ray, Bobby Guy Ray, Mike Evans, Ashton McIntyre, Scott Beach, Jeff Brunson. Honorary pallbearer will be Carl Whitehead. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. The family would like to send special gratitude to Dr. E.D. Baker.
