Obituary of Amber Lee Sistrunk

Funeral services for Mrs. Amber Lee Sistrunk, age 94, will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Bonnee Idee Assembly with Rev. Jerry Stuckey, Rev. Phil Barnes and Rev. David Sistrunk officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Sistrunk, a retired Florist and a retired Hickory Manor Nursing Home employee, passed away Friday, March 7, 2014. Mrs. Sistrunk was a member of North Bastrop Church of God. She loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, she loved serving her Lord, her church family, she loved flowers, and working in her yard. Mrs. Sistrunk is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Woodrow Sistrunk; two sons, Calvin C. Sistrunk, Sr., Thomas Sistrunk; foster child, Bill Birmingham; and a grandson, David Sistrunk, Jr., and six brothers and sisters. Mrs. Sistrunk is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Sistrunk Turner and husband Don of Sterlington, LA, Sandra Harper of Bastrop, LA, Sharon Anders and husband Preston of Mer Rouge, LA; three sons, Jimmy Sistrunk and wife Emma Kay of Bastrop, LA, Rev. David Sistrunk and wife Beverly of Bastrop, LA, Donald Sistrunk and wife Esther of Bastrop, LA; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Sistrunk; one sister, Christine Moody Brown of West Monroe, LA; twenty-four grandchildren, Calvin C, Sistrunk, Jr., Bobby Sistrunk, Keith Sistrunk, Tracey Sistrunk, Iwana Kay Nettles, Jason Sistrunk, Joel Sistrunk, Mary Holly Filippo, Brian Turner, Jeffrey Turner, Tammy Tevy, Steven Sistrunk, Michelle Poland, Dewayne Sistrunk, Letha Heckford, Paul Sistrunk, April Cox, Carl Harper, Laura Morris, Justin Pritchett, Chase Pritchett, Benji Lewis, Lori Middlebrooks, Anna Lewis; forty-three great grandchildren and fifteen great great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Calvin C. Sistrunk, Jr., Jason Sistrunk, Brian Turner, Steve Sistrunk, Paul Sistrunk, Dewayne Sistrunk, Mark Sistrunk and Justin Pritchett. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Burns, Johnny Ray McVoy, Malvin Sistrunk, Mike Sistrunk, and Sam Little. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 8 PM Saturday at the North Bastrop Church of God.
