Obituary of Opal Yeldell

Funeral services for Mrs. Opal Rawls Yeldell, 89, of Bastrop are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2008 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. George Duerson and Father Ned Head officiating. Interment will follow in Bartholomew Cemetery. Mrs. Yeldell was a homemaker and member of First Assembly of God Church in Bastrop where she served faithfully. She gave 20 years of service to Cherry Ridge Guest Care. She was a blessing to all who knew her, always helping those in need. Mrs. Yeldell was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother to her family and also to all children she knew. She is survived by three daughters, Joyce LeBlanc of Baton Rouge, LA, Alice Caughley and husband Jack, Donna Tolar and husband Don, all of Bastrop, LA; two sisters, Uldene Russell and Norma Kelly, both of Bastrop, LA; two grandchildren, Christi Wisely of Hot Springs, AR, and Todd Tolar of Dallas, TX; and one great granddaughter, Ryan Wisely of Hot Springs, AR. Mrs. Yeldell is preceded in death by her parents, Buck and Matilda Rawls; her husband, Frank Yeldell; four brothers and three sisters and a son-in-law, Olen LeBlanc. Serving as pallbearers will be Albert Rawls, Meeks Strong, Lennon Strong, Lonnie Hughes, Dennis Kelly and Richard Russell. Honorary pallbearer will be William Brown. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2008 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. A special "Thanks" to William "Willum" and Diane Brown and the entire staff of Cherry Ridge for loving Mrs. Opal. Memorial contributions may be made to Bartholomew Methodist Church or The Morehouse Humane Society.
