Obituary of Bruce Duvonne Bush

Funeral services for Mr. Bruce Duvonne Bush, age 77, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, February 4, 2011 at Central Church of Christ with Mr. Waymon Swain and Mr. Tommy Stacks officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Memorial Cemetery, Lake Providence. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Bush, a retired welder for Texas Gas Company and member of Central Church of Christ passed away February 1, 2011 at Lagniappe Health Care Center. He obtained his private aviation license when he was a young man and later served as a pilot with the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Bush is a veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and photography. Mr. Bush also assisted in two African missionary trips. He is survived by three children, Anita McLarrin and husband Rayburn of Oak Grove, LA, Bruce Edwin Bush and wife Cheryl of Baton Rouge, LA, Renee` Cone and husband Mike of Crossett, AR; daughter in-law, Patsy Lemoine of Delhi, LA; two sisters, Juanita Grubbs of Oak Ridge, TN, Velma DeLancy and husband Wilburn of Yazoo City, MS; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; and a dear friend, Arlene Sumner of Bastrop, LA. Mr. Bush is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Wolf Bush; parents, Luther and Florence Bush; sister, Wanda Cobb and a brother, Shelton Bush. Serving as pallbearers are: Troy McLarrin, Cade Sharp, Michael Costello, Stephen Bush, Eric Bush and Jacob Gulledge.
