Obituary of Alice Faye Carroll

Memorial services for Mrs. Alice Faye Carroll, age 72, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2008 at the Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Bo Horne, Rev. Sam Emmanuel, and Rev. Dwight Fulton officiating under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Carroll, a retired licensed practical nurse, passed away peacefully Thursday at her residence. Ms. Carroll, was born and raised in Bastrop. She was a graduate of Bastrop High School. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women Association. She enjoyed gardening and fishing. She supported the Disabled Veterans Association and participated in the Multinational Nursing Program. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Wilson, Sr.; second husband, Paul Carroll, Sr.; oldest son, Richard Wilson, Jr.; parents, James and Catherine Duncan, and sister, Frankie Lou Stevenson. She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Olivia Wilson Tisdale & husband William of China Springs, TX; son, Robert Earl Carroll of Bastrop; grandchildren, Jonathan Tisdale of Marion, LA, Jason Tisdale of Aransas, TX, Jimmy Wilson and Zachary Wilson, both of Hamburg, AR; four great grandchildren; brothers, Jeffery Duncan & wife Cora of Bastrop, Edward Eugene "Toby" Duncan of Kansas City, MO. and nieces, Melanie Rawls and Dana Fulton. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or MD Anderson Cancer Treatment Center.
