Obituary of Sr. Turner

Funeral services for Mr. Samuel Abner Turner, age 76, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Yocum and Rev. Luther Sanson officiating. Interment will follow in Redwing Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 5-7 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Turner, a retired truck driver, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014. He was a resident of Bastrop, LA, and a member of Twin Oaks Baptist Church. Mr. Turner loved to cook for his family and spending time with his family whom he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his wife, Audrie Mae Turner; son, Estus Monroe Turner; parents, Estus & Jessie Turner; and sister, Mary "Sugar Do" Harper. Mr. Turner is survived by two daughters, Terrie Lynn Turner of Tulsa, OK, Lamona Lowery & husband Ronnie of Bastrop, LA; two sons, Dale Turner of Bastrop, LA, Samuel A. Turner, Jr. & wife Carmen of Bastrop, LA; sister, Sherry Petty of Bastrop, LA; three brothers, Leroy Turner & wife Bea of Bastrop, LA, James Turner & wife Rosie of Bastrop, LA, Colin Turner & wife Joann of Bastrop, LA; sister-in-law, Martha Lou Boyte; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Lowery, Junior Lowery, Dillian Johnson, Adam Bradford, Jarrod Wyatt, Bubba Johnson, and Kyle Casillas. The deacons of Twin Oaks Baptist Church will be honorary pallbearers.
