Obituary of J. D. Priddy

Funeral services for Mr. J. D. Priddy, 87, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2008 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Mr. Waymon Swain officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, August 22, 2008 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Golden's. Mr. Priddy, a retiree from the Single Service Division of International Paper Company and member of Central Church of Christ, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at his residence. He was a U.S. World War II Navy Veteran that received a Purple Heart and served on the USS Alcyone. Mr. Priddy was a member of Woodmen of the World and the American Legion Post #51. Mr. Priddy is survived by his wife, Faye Priddy; daughters, Donna Stevenson and husband Gary, Diann Stapleton and husband Charles; four grandchildren, Brandon Stevenson and wife Angie, Heath Stevenson, Holley Hall and husband Casey, Courtney Stapleton; five great grandchildren, Madelyn Stevenson, Riley Stevenson, Shelby Hall, Dylan Hall, Kolby Bush, all of Bastrop, LA; two sisters, Onnye Newton and husband Jimmy of Hampton, AR, Hilda Russell of Fordyce, AR; a brother, Gerald Priddy and wife Janice of Locust Bayou, AR; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lucy Eugenia Priddy; four sisters and five brothers. Mr. Priddy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
