Funeral services for Mr. Harold Douglas Wallace, age 72, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church with Revs. Kyle Peters and Shelton Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Goldens.
Mr. Wallace, a longtime member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church, was employed for 40 years in the building materials business and later retired in 2008 from Ideal True Value in Crossett, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Alice Wallace; sons, Michael Wallace, Tom Wallace and wife Julie, Steven Wallace and wife Rebecca; brother, Lt. Col. U.S. Army retired, Thomas Wallace and wife Anne; sisters in-law, Faye Morrison, Alma Ruth "Petie" Lachney and husband Wesley; grandsons, Chris Wallace, Spencer Wallace, Cadge Wallace, Christopher Vardaman, Chandler Vardaman; granddaughters, Jaxyn Wallace, Karys Wallace; great granddaughters, Laycee Wallace, Kaitlyn Wallace, Addyson Vardaman; special granddaughters, Kolbie Rea, Sarah Tubbs; special grandsons, Justin Pritchett and Chase Pritchett and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Wallace is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Vera Mae Wallace; father in-law and mother in-law, Bill and Gladys Cox and brothers in-law, William Ray Cox and Wayne Morrison.
Harold devoted his life to being a servant of God and a provider for his family.
