Funeral services for Mr. J.B. Deville, age 93, are scheduled for Friday, July 25, 2014 at 10 AM in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Peters officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 5 - 8 PM at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Deville, a resident of Bastrop, was born June 28, 1921 in Bonita, LA, to parents Peter Ovaltin Deville and Ollie Poole Deville. He passed from this life on July 22, 2014, in Bastrop, LA. He enlisted in the United States Army on August 12, 1942, the day before he married Helen Sexton. He served as a private during World War II in Europe and was honorably discharged on November 9, 1945. He returned to Bastrop where he was employed by International Paper Company as a pulp mill operator. He retired after 41 years of service to IP on July 1,1983. Mr. Deville was also an active member and deacon and served the Lord for many years at the Oak Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Deville is preceded in death by wife, Helen Sexton Deville, wife, Louise Austin Jones Deville, and son, Billy Don Deville. He is survived by his daughter, Dixie Reynolds and husband Kenneth of Calhoun, LA; his son, Jerry Deville and wife Charlotte of Bastrop, LA; his daughter-in-law, Beth Deville of Bastrop, LA; three step-daughters, Kathy Preddy, Marilyn Kinnaird and husband Donnie, and Connie Priest; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. The family would like to request that any memorial contributions be made to the Cherry Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund.
