Obituary of Claudette Branham Turner

Funeral services for Mrs. Claudette Branham Turner, age 73, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Dr. Vic Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Turner, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Morehouse General Hospital. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for N&C Turner Farms. Mrs. Turner also enjoyed playing the piano and served as pianist for many years at Bonita Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and an excellent cook. She was also an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making clothes for her family. Mrs. Turner is preceded in death by her husband Nathan Turner; parents, Victor and Gladys Branham; four brothers, Elvin, Lester, Larry, and John Branham; and two son-in-laws, Hank Fowler and Robert McLeod. She is survived by four daughters, Sandra Hughes and husband Todd of Bastrop, LA, Karen Kelley and husband Tommy of Calhoun, LA, Julie Kilcrease and husband Brian of Bastrop, LA, Shelly Stroud and husband Andy of Bastrop, LA; five sisters, Barbara "Sis" Nutt of Star City, AR, Sylvia Mason of Noble, OK, Janette Nugent of DeWitt, AR, Lynette Franks of DeWitt, AR, Debbie Trice of Gillett, AR; four brothers, Clayton Branham of Gillett, AR, Garland Branham of Gillett, AR, Jerry Branham of Gillett, AR, Donnie Branham of Little Rock, AR; fourteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers are Todd Hughes, Tommy Kelley, Brian Kilcrease, Andy Stroud, and Loren Phillips. Honorary pallbearers are Jerrett Fowler and Corey McLeod.
