Obituary of Carl J. Tubbs

Funeral services for Carl J. Tubbs, age 79, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday January 6, 2006, at First Baptist Church in Bastrop with Dr. Mark Strum and Rev. Jim Ingram officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday January 5, 2006 from 5-9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Tubbs, a resident of Collinston, passed away December 19, 2005. He was a retired Baptist Minister and a member of First Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher for the Senior Adults. He was also a member of the Barak Shrine in Monroe. He was preceded in death by his wife, S. Marie Tubbs; son, Thomas H. Tubbs; and daughter, Helen M. Tubbs. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lee Tubbs; three daughters, Elizabeth M. Tubbs of Wichita Falls, TX, Patricia A. Osgood of Clinton, MD, Ethel L. Camp of Crestview, FL; two sons, Carl J. Tubbs, Jr. of Azle, TX, Steven W. Shockey, Sr. of Collinston, LA; sister, Leeova Brossard of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Tommy Tubbs, Steven W. Shockey, Jr., Christopher A. Shockey and Barbara Gray. Pallbearers will be Floyd Tubbs, Terry Williams, Wayne Freeland, Larry Tubbs, Wayne Philley and George Winnon.
