Obituary of Sidney "Kenneth" Townsend

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Sidney "Kenneth" Townsend, age 70, of Crossett, AR are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2014 at Christ Church Cemetery with Rev. Andy Myrick officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Townsend, a retired heavy equipment operator, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014. He enjoyed working on assorted projects and spending time outdoors with his family at their camp on the Ouachita River. He is survived by his wife, Karen Townsend; two daughters, Kimberly Townsend of Bastrop, LA, Karla Shipman and husband Todd of Bastrop, LA; sons, Todd Williams of Tennessee, Keith "Tattoo" Hickman and wife Jennifer of Mer Rouge, LA, Kenny Hickman and wife Secret of Bastrop, LA; sister, Dorothy Jones of Arcadia, LA; brother, Melton Townsend of Ruston, LA; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and special friends, Possum and Kat and Dickie Hales. Mr. Townsend is preceded in death by his parents, Elra and Ophie Townsend; three brothers, Junior Townsend, Carroll Townsend and Ray Townsend.
