Obituary of Cecil Cain

Funeral services for Mr. Cecil Cain, age 88, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2008 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Alexander and Rev. Gary Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Cain passed away Friday, September 5, 2008 at his residence in Bastrop. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, a twenty year member of the Morehouse Parish Police Jury and a veteran of WWII in the U.S. Army Air Corp. Mr. Cain is preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Effie Cain; his wife, Vonceil Cain; a sister, Verdise Briley and a brother Clayton Cain. He is survived by a special friend, Opal Glass; one son, Jerry Cain and wife Penny of Sterlington, LA; two brothers, Vernon Cain of Bastrop, LA, Edward Cain and wife Irma Jean of Sterlington, LA; three grandchildren, Shane, Justin and Logan Cain; and three great grandchildern, Alexis, Tyler and Spencer Cain. Pallbearers will be Olen Haynes, Fred Sivils, Lamar Belin, Jody Cain, Jory Cain, James Fortenberry. Honorary pallbearers will be D.W. Thomas, Dewayne Glass, Don Waren and Jerry Anderson.
