Funeral services for Mrs. Sheryl R. Bankston, age 50, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Dr. Vic Carter and Mr. George Delamar officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Bankston, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Morehouse General Hospital. She was employed as a Director of Support Programs for the Louisiana Wildlife Agents Association. Mrs. Bankston enjoyed traveling and was a loving wife and a devoted mother. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Harry Ryder; father-in-law, Wayne Bankston; nephew, Jeffery Scott McKoin; special family friend, Barrett Hale; and her loving dog, Abby. Mrs. Bankston is survived by her husband, Alan Bankston of Bastrop, LA; son, Jason Bankston and wife Ashley of Bastrop, LA; parents, Larry and Linda Ryder of Bastrop, LA; grandmother, Cleo Ryder of Bastrop, LA; mother-in-law, Mrs. Joan Bankston; two sisters, Cherrie Dickerson and husband Randall of West Monroe, LA, Brandi Martinez and husband Don of Thibodaux, LA; Nana's darling, Paige Martinez; two nieces, Claire Billings and husband Darren of Bastrop, LA, and Anna Beth Tullos and husband Les of Bonita, LA. Serving as pallbearers will be Louisiana Wildlife Enforcement Agents. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews, Pat Moore, Will Blackard, Colby Dickerson, Cole Blackard, Brady Dickerson, and family friend, Jeremy Hogan.
