Obituary of Vivian Sheridan

Vivian Sheridan, age 88, passed away Monday, September 8, 2008 in Bastrop Louisiana. She was born September 9, 1919 in Galion, Louisiana to Joseph and Dora McLean. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas Emery Sheridan, her brother Joseph "Sox" McLean, his wife Martha Jane, and her grandson Kyle Edward Morgan. Mrs. Sheridan is survived by her daughter, Connie Sheridan Morgan and husband Hal of Austin, Texas, her granddaughter, Ashley Braxton and husband Larkin of Leesville, Louisiana, her niece Gerry Fleming and husband Franklin of Bastrop, niece Martha Jo McLean of Bastrop, nephews Mickey McLean and wife Gretchen of Yuma, Arizona, Joseph "Sonny" McLean and wife Lee of Greenburg, Louisiana, and Jim Jackson and wife Fair of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and all of their families. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Shirley Sheridan of Bogalusa, Louisiana and by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Golden Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 9, 2008. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Ingram officiating. Internment will follow at Christ Church Cemetery in Bastrop. Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Carroll, Rodney Dew, Glen Melton, Raymond Westbrook, Elva Greer, and Craig Fleming. Mrs. Sheridan was a life time member of the First Baptist Church in Bastrop. She was very involved in the Womens Missionary Union in which she worked with the Food Pantry. Many people were helped in times of need through her efforts and kindness. She lived the past 4 years at the Arbor. She loved living there with all her friends and participating in all the activities. Scrapbooking was a favorite pasttime of hers. She made many scrapbooks for the Arbor showcasing events held there for the residents. The family would like to thank the staff and her friends at the Arbor, for they were able to fill her days with happiness. And many thanks to the wonderful staff of Premier Hospice who helped care for Mrs. Sheridan therse past few months. Specifically, we would like to thank her nurses Nita, Peggy, and Cindy. We would also like to thank Portia Margie, and Jewell for the love and care they provided, and to Dr. Cox for the care he provided during her illness. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial donation in Mrs. Vivian Sheridan's name to the American Cancer Society, First Baptist Church, or the charity of your choice.
