Obituary of MaRanda Gayle Jackson

Funeral services for MaRanda Gayle Jackson, a resident of Bastrop, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2014 at Bonita Road Baptist Church with Revs. Casey Johnson and Marty Black officiating. Interment will follow in Bonita Road Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Bonita Road Baptist Church. MaRanda, age 29, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014. She was a member of Bonita Road Baptist Church. MaRanda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and taking day trips with "Granny" and "Papaw". She is preceded in death by her father, Travis Ronald Dale Smith; grandparents, Travis & Evon Smith; and sister, Magan Smith. She is survived by her mother and step-father, Gayle and Paul Rabun of Bastrop, LA; grandparents, William and Eleanor McMullan of Bastrop, LA; sons, Gauge and Cole Jackson of Brookhaven, MS; sister Nikki Smith of Bastrop, LA; nieces, Gracie, Lilly, and Nadilee; nephew, Noah and two special friends, Kitty Sisk and Jackie Kendrix. Serving as pallbearers are: Jeff Philley, Mike Baker, Jonathan Baker and Phillip Boatright. Honorary pallbearers are: Jacky McMullan and Paul Rabun. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Cyndi Burlew, Dustin McGowen and Premier Hospice for taking such wonderful care of MaRanda. Memorials may be made to the Huntingtons Disease Society of America at 505 8th Avenue, Suite 902, New York, New York 10018.
