Obituary of Rev. Patrick M. "Pat" Guice

Funeral services for Rev. Patrick M. "Pat" Guice are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, September, 17, 2008 at Bonita Road Baptist Church, Bastrop with Rev. Jim Ingram, Rev. Bobby O'Fallon, Rev. Mike Loveday, Rev. Andy Myrick and Rev. Rocky Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park in Monroe. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Rev. Guice, a resident of Bastrop, passed away on September 15, 2008 at St. Francis North Hospital in Monroe, LA. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Bastrop. He was an ordained minister for 57 years, during which time he organized, built and pastored several churches including a Christian school. Rev. Guice was a United States Air Force veteran during WWII serving as a bombadier. He loved his family and grandchildren. Rev. Guice also was passionate about his calling for the Lord and authored several books. He is preceded in death by a grandson, Jamie McCarthy Guice; parents, Jefferson Monroe Guice and Eula Chambless Guice; brothers, Leonard Chambless Guice, and James Monroe Guice. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Marguerite Rowe Guice of Bastrop, LA; two sons, Gary Guice and wife Sharon of Bastrop, LA, Les Guice and wife Kathy of Ruston, LA; six grandchildren, Toby Guice and wife Ginger, Leigh Ann Jones and husband Doug, Claire Guice, Chad Guice and wife Shannon, Kyle Guice and wife Ginger, Bret Guice; and six great grandchildren, Halley, Douglas, Alyssa, Taylor and Madison Jones, Zack Christopher Guice. Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews, Sandy Brady, Dane Brady, Kenny Kennedy, Tracy Kennedy, Ricky Rowe, Paul Rowe, Danny Duke, Jr. and Michael Duke.
