Obituary of Orvel Lee McCready

Funeral services for Mr. Orvel Lee McCready, age 74, are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Golden Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Bonita Cemetery, Bonita, LA under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 PM until 8 PM Friday, September 12 at Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. McCready, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014. He was a a member of Bonita First Baptist Church. He served his country in the United States Army and is a retired employee of International Paper Co.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Wyatt McCready; daughter, Anita Pierre and husband Willie of Bastrop, LA; sons, Orvel Lee McCready, Jr. and wife Renee of Bastrop, LA, Clifton Roger McCready and wife Cindy of Newnan, GA; sisters, Jolene Faye Roper, Virginia Lois Strickland, Arnell Nightingale; brother, James Ralph McCready; grandchildren, Jessica and Doug, Jennifer and Michael, Jerrica and Chris, Jennica, Orvel Lee III, Natalie and Alex, James, Rebecca, Nicholas, Andrew; four great grandchildren.
Mr. McCready is preceded in death by his parents, James Hollis and Lela May McCready, three brothers, and two sisters.
Serving as pallbearers will be Willie Pierre, Orvel McCready, Jr., Clifton McCready, Doug Chapman, Chris Gary, Michael Armfield.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
