Dennis Lamar Brooks, age 47, began his heavenly journey on Thursday, September 18, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service for Dennis will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Dalyn Helbling officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Dennis was an accountant for Ouachita Lumber and a member of Ouachita Baptist Church. He was a resident of Monroe. He is preceded in death by his father, William Henry Brooks.
He is survived by his wife, Diwana Brooks of Monroe; mother, Robbie Lee Brooks of Bastrop; son, Dustin Brooks of Bastrop; step-children, Amanda Black of Monroe, Ashley Black of Monroe, Tyler Austin of Monroe, Corey Austin of Monroe; sister, Regina Fuller & husband Ron of Navarre Beach, FL; brothers, Michael Sharp & wife Susan of Bastrop, Donald Sharp & wife Betty of West Monroe, William D. Brooks & wife Angela of Bastrop; numerous nieces & nephews; and special friends, Fred Norris of West Monroe and Mike Brooks of Bastrop.
Dennis will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
