Funeral services for Mr. Calvin Ellis Hughes, 81, of Sterlington, LA are scheduled for 1 PM Saturday, April 14, 2007 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Hughes, a retired operator/ electrician from Mississippi River Transmission Corporation and a veteran of World War II in the United States Army , passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at St. Francis North Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Mae Hughes; two sons, Vernon Hughes of Perryville, LA, Marty Hughes and wife Wanda of Farmerville, LA; three grandchildren, Hannah Hughes, Rebekah Hughes, Micah Hughes;step-grandson, Brant Forwood; two step-great grandchildren, Ellie and Jonathon Forwood.
Mr. Hughes is preceded in death by his parents, Ellis Wilson and Eunice and Garland Hughes and brother, James Harold Hughes.
Serving as pallbearers will be Huey Davenport, Terry Day, Tommy Godwin, Randy Hart, Bobby Kemp and Vince Passerello.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 13, 2007 from 6 PM until 9 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
