Obituary of Alice "Gertrude" Lucas

Funeral services for Alice "Gertrude" Lucas, age 85, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2008 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Nelson Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 12 - 2 p.m. at Goldens.
Mrs. Lucas, a homemaker and resident of Collinston, passed away October 3, 2008. She was a member of the Collinston Garden Club. She took great pride in the appearance of her home and her yard. She loved her Lord, her husband, family members, and friends. She had a special love for children, often taking care of her nieces, nephews, and other children.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Buford "Butch" Lucas; brothers, Ernest Wilson, Albert Wilson, John Wilson, Willie Wilson; sisters, Susie Puckett, Dolly Abernathy, and Lela Wordsworth.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Rankin, Jimmy Ray Carter, Chris Carter, John Carter, Bobby Dale Kelly, and Lloyd Sivils.
The family would like to thank MediStar Home Health, SouthernCare Hospice, and extend sincere appreciation to her family of caregivers at The Arbor Terrace.
