Obituary of George W. "Pat" Sebren

Funeral services for Mr. George W. "Pat" Sebren, 84, of Bastrop are scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2008 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Dr. Vic Carter and Rev. Allan Eppinette officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Sebren, a member of Faith Baptist Church, passed away Friday, October 3, 2008 at Oak Woods Home for the Elderly. He was a retired carpenter who did beautiful work. In his younger days he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Sebren loved baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves. He was a United States Army veteran during WWII serving in five major battles including the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Sebren loved the Lord and leaves a long legacy. He is survived by his wife, Quita Hall Sebren; three daughters, Mary Jane Walthall and husband David, Patricia Ann Prater, Trudy Perry and husband Ricky, all of Bastrop, LA; two sons, Michael Wayne Sebren and wife Tammy of Bastrop, LA, Danny Hall and wife Karen Sue of Boyce, LA; two sisters, Hazel Lott, Janet Haynes, both of Bastrop, LA; Franklin Sebren, Don Sebren, both of Bastrop, LA; sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Mr. Sebren is preceded in death by his parents, William Edgar and Fonnie Sebren; son, George Ray Sebren; grandson, James Neil Stinson; six brothers and one sister. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Kevin Riles, Keith Riles, Kenny Riles, Jared Bolden, Chase Sebren and Ray Sebren. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Glossup, Homer Glossup and Elroy Glossup. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 4, 2008 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
