Funeral services for Mrs. Imogene Gold, age 80, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Tabora officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gold, a retired seamstress and inspector for Master Slacks Garment Plant (Bastrop) and member of North Bastrop Church of God, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008 at Morehouse General Hospital. She was an avid bowler.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd Gold; daughter, Barbara Porter of Bastrop, LA; son, Dale Turman and wife Vicki of Farmerville, LA; two sisters, Nell Oden of Bastrop, LA, Audrey Sanders and husband Mike of Pensacola, FL; three grandchildren, Melonie Monk, Tiffany Turman, Brandon Porter; three great grandchildren, Skylar Turman, Laighton Monk and Jayden Monk.
Mrs. Gold is preceded in death by her father, John Bodie; mother, Adie Bodie Wiggins; step-father, Asa Wiggins; brothers, A.J. Bodie, William Elmer Bodie; sisters, Mildred Diamond, Shirley Foley and son in-law, Jim Porter.
Serving as pallbearers are: George Diamond, Danny McGrew, Ronald Oden, Hubert Neal, Larry Pittman and Cecil Nall.
Honorary pallbearers are: Dr. Wenynholt, Dr. Trejo, Dr. Qayyum, Dr. Bhandari, Dr. Lyles, PAC-Wendy Langley and Jerry Diamond.
