Obituary of Jr. Floyd

Funeral services for Mr. E.B. Floyd, Jr.,89, of Jones, LA. are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at New Hope Baptist Church with Revs. Gary Traylor and Larry Linson officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Church cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Floyd, a devoted husband, father and local farmer for over 50 years passed away Sunday, January 8, 2006 at St. Francis North in Monroe, La. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Jones, La. Mr. Floyd is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dera Jane Floyd; four daughters, Brenda Martin and husband Charles of Bastrop, LA, Fay Sanderson and husband Lloyd of Austin, TX, Kaye Brown and husband Joe of Monticello, AR, Karen Boone and husband Dennis of Hamburg, AR; son, Chris Floyd and wife Traci of Jones, LA; sister, Marjorie Bunch of Bastrop, LA; brother, Louis Floyd of Bastrop, LA; eleven grandchildren, Paul Martin, Tim Martin, Leah Murray, Scott Sams, Kelli Sams, Cody Floyd, Hope Floyd, Kathryn Boone, Dan Brown, Magan Cook, Martin Cook and ten great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers are: Don Doles, Mike Doles, Derl Johnson, Dennis Doke, Randy Haynes, Rick Polk, Bobby Abraugh, Charles Cook and Ronald Boone. Honorary pallbearers are: Odell Johnson, Dr. E.D. Baker, J.C. Doke and Rev. Jimmy Yocum. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2006 at Golden Funeral Home. The family requests that donations be made to New Hope Baptist Church or to the church cemetery fund.
