Funeral services for Mr. Johnnie Kovac, Jr., age 73, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. David McGuffee officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Kovac, a retired farmer, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014. He was a member of Mer Rouge Baptist Church. He was also a 32nd degree Mason with the Mer Rouge Masonic Lodge. Mr. Kovac was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He will be remembered as a man that loved God, his family and his dogs. He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnie T. Kovac, Sr. and Helen Rose McKoin, and a granddaughter, Angela Suzanne Wallace. Mr. Kovac is survived by his wife of 26 years, Annette Vallery Kovac of Mer Rouge, LA; four daughters, Linette Kovac Johnston and husband Shane of West Monroe, LA, Teena Rose Kovac Wallace and husband David of Monroe, LA, Wanda Rae Kovac Jones and husband Mark of Farmerville, LA, Johnette Kovac and son-in-law Kenneth Masters, both of Monroe, LA; two sons, Jonathan Edward Overton and wife Angela of Mer Rouge, LA, Andrew James Kennedy and wife Lisa of Metairie, LA; brother, Kenneth K. Kovac and wife Mildred Lynn of Mer Rouge, LA; and six grandchildren, Molly Anne Masters, Emily Klaire Masters, Mildred Grace Masters, John Andrew Wallace, Jonathan Edward Overton, Jr., and Margaret Elizabeth Kennedy. Serving as pallbearers are Matt Lyon, Bunnie Keith McKoin, K. Arthur Flowers, Mark Jones, Shane Johnston, David Wallace, and Kenneth Masters. Drew Wallace is an honorary pallbearer.
