Funeral services for Mrs. Wanetta Curtis Avant, age 83, of Mer Rouge, LA are scheduled for 10 AM Wednesday, November 5, 2014 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Donald Reeves, Bro. Andy Myrick and Bro. Bob Lonadier officiating. Interment will follow in McKnight Cemetery.
Mrs. Avant, a homemaker and member of Horseshoe Baptist Church, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014.
She is survived by her son, John Richard Avant and wife Mary of Houma, LA; three sisters; four brothers; grandchildren, John D. Avant, Joan Avant, Kassie Kay Avant; great grandchildren, Easton Avant, Rod Chavez, Alex Chavez and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Avant is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Avant; sons, Tony Boden, Dusty King; grandson, Andrew Chavez; uncle and aunt, John and Dora Bell and their children.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Evans, Frank Murphy, Jr., Jody Cook, David Tippit, James Ellis, and John D. Avant. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Wagner, Clifton Avant, and Jimmy Broadnax.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 5 PM - 8 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
