Funeral services for Mr. Ernest Richard Hawkins, age 89, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2014 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Dick Day officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3-5 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Hawkins, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 at Glenwood Medical Center. He was a retired International Paper Company employee and cattleman. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Mt. Gerizim Masonic Lodge #54, the Scottish Rite, and the Barak Shrine Temple. He loved his grandchildren, his cows, and enjoyed spending time fishing and gathering together with his family. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Hawkins; parents, Albert Harvey Hawkins and Emma Gulledge Hawkins; one brother and four sisters. Mr. Hawkins is survived by his wife, Pat Hawkins of Bastrop; son, Terrell Hawkins and wife Sara of Bastrop; step-children, Monica Sweat of Bastrop, Ronny White and wife Nina of Bastrop; grandchildren, Tara Conley and husband Kevin of Bastrop, Tricia Jowell and husband Chris of Shreveport; step grandchildren, Kristi Morrison and husband Greg, Kelsey Gregory and husband James, Brad White, Brent White and wife Laura; great grandchildren, James Patrick Conley and Reed Solomon Conley of Bastrop, Aaron Christopher Conley of The Woodlands, Texas, and Jackson Rex Jowell of Longview, TX ; and a host nieces and nephews. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Kenneth Reynolds, Richard Reynolds, Larry Crainshaw, Justin Crainshaw, Glenn Davis, and Greg Hawkins.
