Obituary of Geneva Riles Martin

Funeral services for Geneva Riles Martin, age 87, of Bastrop, LA will be held at 10 AM Friday, October 31, 2008 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev.Marty Black and Rev. Danny Hawthorne officiating. Interment will follow in Causey Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Martin, a homemaker and a member of Bonita Road Baptist Church passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at her residence. She loved the outdoors, to entertain friends and family, play dominoes and fish. Mrs. Martin is survived by two daughters, LaFran Martin Jaggers and husband Leroy of Bastrop, LA, Patricia Martin DeShazo and husband Gary of Huttig, AR; one son, Hubert Martin and wife Naydine of Sherman, TX; five sisters, Virgie Mae Dees of Clarence, LA, Elizabeth Riles Palenik of Bastrop, LA, Naomi Rickman of Hamburg, AR, Lavada Rich of Bastrop, LA, Marlyn Kouw of Holland, MI; six grandchildren, Samuel Ray Martin, Joey Dean Martin, Tammy Wells, Marvin Jaggers, Coby DeShazo, Gregory Miller; and ten great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rowland S. Martin; parents, John Preston Riles and Mable Ozell Riles; a sister, Marie Montgomery; and four brothers, Lonnie Riles, Roy Riles, Hubert Carl Riles and James Riles. Pallberares will be Marvin Jaggers, Joshua Wells, Samuel Martin, Joey Dean Martin, David Riles, Bobby Wayne Riles. Honorary pallbearers will be Coby DeShazo, Chip Wells and Gregory Miller.
