Obituary of Eunice Eva Evans Crew

Eunice Eva Evans Crew, age 91, passed away November 22, 2008, at Rose Haven Nursing Home in Atlanta, Texas. She was born January 18, 1917, near Vaughn, Morehouse Parish, Louisiana, the daughter of Ellis John Evans and Jeanette 'Genie' Barham. She lived her life as a housewife and Mother of four sons. Eunice Eva Evans and Joe Shelby Crew were united in marriage June 15, 1933, in White, Ashley County, Arkansas. He preceded her in death March 19, 1998. She is also preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother Velma 'Mammy' Kinney Evans, her brothers Sam Houston Evans and Linzy Eugene Evans, her sister Doris Mae Evans Weber, and one son, Troy Eugene Crew. She leaves to cherish her memory three sons and daughter in-laws, Joe Shelby Crew, Jr. and wife Ann Kemp of Bastrop, Jerry A. Crew and wife Carol Ann Reynolds of Idabel, Oklahoma, Donald K. Crew and wife Diane Butler of Denton, Texas, daughter in-law Charlotte Shankle Crew of Atlanta, Texas, and her sister Ellistene Evans Freeland of Bastrop. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends and relatives Monday from 5-7 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home in Bastrop. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Wesley Bennett and Rev. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow at Stevenson Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
