Obituary of Mavis Morie Emmons Bickley

Funeral services for Mrs. Mavis Morie Emmons Bickley, 94, of Bastrop, will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. R. B. Moore officiating. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bickley, a retired Bastrop elementary teacher for over 40 years, passed away January 29, 2006 at Morehouse General Hospital. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a graduate of Louisiana Tech University. She was also a sucessful gardener and an avid antique collector.
She is survived by her husband, James Douglas Bickley; son, James Douglas Bickley,Jr. and wife Gay of Baton Rouge, LA; grandson, James Douglas Bickley III of Baton Rouge, LA and three nieces.
Mrs. Bickley is preceded in death her parents, J.R. and Lula Walker Emmons of Dodson, LA.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2006 at Golden Funeral Home.
